Based on a school-based screening of 15,000 students, the collaborative project Pro-HEAD aims to promote help-seeking behavior and the use of professional help among children and adolescents with mental health problems, as well as to prevent mental illness in at-risk populations and strengthen mental health in healthy populations.
Central Project
The goal of the central project is to organize school-based recruitment and screening and annual follow-up of 15,000 students at five sites in Germany. In addition, the central project develops and maintains the software environment for central screening and data management and produces the Internet-based interventions of subprojects 1, 2, 3, and 5. Through the central project, the consortium is coordinated administratively and technically.
Subproject 5
The Schwäbisch Gmünd site is involved in the central project and responsible for the implementation of subproject 5. The main objectives of this subproject are the development and implementation of a universal Internet-based prevention service StresSOS to strengthen the mental health of children and adolescents. In addition, the effectiveness and acceptance of the intervention will be evaluated in two controlled studies.
